It seems like they are taking on a big challenge, that even dentists have troubles with: turning around non-compliant behavior. From the article:

> Beam’s dental insurance policies include Perks, a quarterly subscription service with an electric toothbrush, replacement heads, paste, and floss for every insured member.

Well, no matter what, it’s really awesome to see a company working to help small businessess and their employees.

Bipartisan Maryland bill would create Medicaid dental option http://www.tolliverbellgroup.com/page/bipartisan-maryland-bill-would-create-medicaid-dental-option/ Wed, 15 Mar 2017 22:39:16 +0000 http://www.tolliverbellgroup.com/?p=28756

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A Maryland measure with bipartisan support would expand Medicaid to establish an adult dental option.

Maryland lawmakers usually don’t agree on much however there’s one issue that, with any hope, they’ll find consensus. Creating a dental option for their state Medicaid participants.

What the coverage would look like, how long before effective dates are realized, if expansion of providers would be included are all items left still open. It sounds though, that they are at least headed in the right direction.

For years in Maryland and a few other states, Medicaid left a large swath of silver patients without care. I myself recall having many consultations with treatment seeking patients only to have to reveal that they’d have to find payment elsewhere as their plans did not have a dental option. The look of disappointment was unforgettable. Perhaps, after this vote, there will be less of those moments. At least in Maryland.
